Banbury & District were blown away by Halesowen & Stourbridge's first-half blitz as they bowed out of the English Schools' FA Under 15 Trophy 3-2 in the first round.
Playing into a strong wind, Banbury conceded three goals in a crazy seven-minute period capped by a dubious penalty awarded for handball.
Banbury rallied in the second half, but it wasn't until ten minutes to go that they pulled a goal back through Ben Lewis.
An own goal two minutes from time gave them hope of snatching a draw, but the visitors held on and now entertain Oxford, who were handed a walkover by Redditch, in the second round.
A date and venue has yet to be arranged.
Mid Oxon take on South Bedfordshire in the first round at Old Woodstock Town on Saturday (10.45).
Vale of White Horse Under 14s opened their campaign with a 3-0 friendly win at Wellingborough & Rushden.
Jake Johns gave Vale the lead with a shot from just outside the penalty area in the first half.
Sam Short increased their advantage early in the second half, and Josh Christopher scored the third with a low drive.
Vale of White Horse Under 11s warmed up for the new season with a 7-3 win over Larkmead, Abingdon Under 12s.
Harry Denton, Sebastian Katsande and Lewis Stubbs all scored two after Benjamin Johns notched Vale's first.
They now face Woking in their County League opener at Oxford Brookes Westminster Institute of Education on Saturday (10.30).
In their final trial games, Vale Greens went down 2-0 to Newbury A, while Vale Reds beat Newbury B 5-3.
Kai Barratt and Johns hit doubles for Vale Reds, with Michael Ledbury completing their tally.
