Twelve-year-old Josh Hickman is celebrating after getting a call-up to represent England in the world junior championships in Quebec, Canada, next year.
Hickman, who plays for Oxford City Stars at under 14 and under 16 level, captained the club's under 12s last season, where he finished as their leading scorer.
He was selected by Oxford to trial for the under 13 South West England Conference squad, and the region's head coach, who is also England under 13 assistant coach invited Hickman to attend an England trial in Sheffield.
And three days later, Hickman received an email telling him that his trial had been a success.
He now takes his place in the England squad for the world championships, with the tournament celebrating its 50th anniversary.
With the cost of funding the trip expecting to be around £3,000, Hickman is now in search of sponsorship.
