Oxford Hawks came through a first-round thriller in the EH Cup, as they beat Basingstoke on penalty flicks after a 1-1 draw.
Basingstoke's centre forward slotted home easily from close range in the first few minutes.
Henri Coles flicked the ball low into the right hand corner to equalise, and although the home team dominated, the Basingstoke keeper continued to frustrate them., and the game ended 1-1.
In extra time, Hawks could not finish off the game and penalty strokes ensued.
In keeping with the rest of the game, both keepers were outstanding and the first eight strokes were all saved.
Then Hawks' Tori Clark stepped up and confidently slotted away her stroke low to the right.
Goalkeeper Evelyn Hargraves kept the North Oxford crowd happy as she superbly saved the last stroke, to put Hawks into the second round.
