Former Oxford United striker Neville Roach poached a second-half double as Didcot romped to their biggest ever win in British Gas Business Southern League Division 1 South & West.

Not to be outdone, substitute Elliott Osbourn-Rickets helped himself to a brace on his home debut.

Matty Jack’s thumping volley was acrobatically saved by Cleeve keeper Jamie Moore, before James Vercesi brought a good stop out of Michael Watkins.

On the half-hour mark, Didcot defender Ricky Allaway almost capped a fine debut with a goal, but Linden Tomkins blocked his effort.

After the break, Didcot took the lead when skipper Jamie Heapy fired home his first goal of 2008 on 51 minutes.

Kevin Slack hit the bar before Roach put Didcot in the driving seat with a double on 65 and 73 minutes.

Didcot got a fourth when Bartley was brought down in the area, King making no mistake from the spot on 79 minutes.

Didcot’s fifth came when Osborne-Ricketts rose unchallenged to head home Jack King’s free-kick.

Roach hit the Cleeve bar with a shot from 12 yards as he went for his hat-trick, before Osborne-Ricketts completed an impressive brace three minutes from time.
