Oxford Stars have signed Richard Hargreaves from English Premier League side Slough Jets, as they attempt to build on their good start in Division 1 South of the English National League.
Hargreaves, brother of current Stars player Mike, has a proven record in the higher echelons, having played in the Elite League with London Racers before they folded.
Stars' coach Darryl Morvan said: "This signing will give us the luxury of being able to match the opposition's strongest players."
Fresh from two wins last weekend away to Peterborough Islanders and Streat- ham Redskins, Stars aiming for another double.
They are on the road again tonight against Cardiff Dragons, who finished one place above them in South A Conference last season.
However, the Welsh side could have up to seven of their players suspended, following an altercation against Streatham last Saturday.
Tomorrow, Stars face the return fixture at home to Peterborough Islanders, with a 6.15 face-off.
Previous contests have always been incident- packed.
Last weekend there was a clash in front of the Stars bench which led to Oxford's Grant Bailey, and Peterborough's player-coach, Jesse Hammill, being ejected.
Morvan said: "Peterborough will be determined to get themselves back on track. It has all the prospects of being an action-filled game."
