Nobby Noble (+100) made a welcome return to squeeze past Ian Gee (+50)150-149.
Ashton captain Terry Chambers (scratch) completed the rout with breaks of 20 and 26 to overtake Alan Mander (+60) 200-191.
Mike Chapman (+100) sent Fieldside on the road to a 3-0 victory over Thame when he beat Nigel Bossom (scratch) 200-187.
Norman Woodcock (+70) made it 2-0 by beating Peter Hawkes (+130) 150-108, and in the battle of the captains, Paul Robinson (-60) recorded breaks of 25, 27, 31 and 31 to beat Tom Fletcher (+80) 220-193.
CCC B enjoyed a narrow 2-1 win over Riley B.
Brian Mabbutt (+20) pipped Doug Baker (+60) 200-198 to put them in the lead and John Simpson (+30) inched past Bob Lacey (+100) 200-190 to make it 2-0.
CCC A won 2-1 away to reigning champions Oracle.
Although Pete Maconochie (+40) took the opening game for Oracle by defeating Terry Cook (+20) 200-133 with breaks of 20 and 22, it was to be their only success.
Arthur Coakley (+90) levelled the match by beating Gordon Cook (+80) 150-132, and Dick Hashman (-10) made breaks of 22, 23, 23, 24 and 27 to see off Richard Connerty (+50).
