Andrew Wingfield Digby.
(Bicester & N Oxford).
Captain, left-hand batsmen, right arm seamer. Born 25/7/50. Educated: Sherborne & Oxford Univ, where he gained four Blues. Captained Dorset to victory in the Minor Counties Holt One-Day trophy at Lord's in 1988. Bowled Viv Richards with the first ball he bowled to him for Combined Univs v Somerset 1976. A Church of England vicar, he is a past director of Christians in Sport, and former chaplain to the England cricket team.
Ian Caunce.
(Oxford Downs).
Hard-hitting right-hand opening batsman. Born 8/10/51. A Lancastrian renowned for hitting lots of sixes. Once struck the first five balls in an over for six, scoring only two off the last. Represented Southport & District League before moving down south. Made his highest score of 168 v Warwickshire in this year's tournament.
Paul Tew.
(Sandford St Martin).
Opening batsman. Born: 13/2/56. Played club cricket for 38 years, previous clubs being Barford St Michael and Bloxham. Once scored four centuries in five innings. Played for and captained OCA League representative side. Scored century for Oxfordshire Over 50s v Warwicks in 2007.
Phil Garner.
(Shipton-under-Wychwood).
Right-hand batsman, off-spin bowler. Born 26/3/46. Educated at Oxford Univ. Captained Oxfordshire to two Minor Counties Championship titles, and led England Amateur XI. Played for Minor Counties representative side and captained Club Cricket Conference on four overseas tours. Member of Shipton side that won National Village Championship at Lord's. Scored a century at Eden Park, Auckland. Top score 225 and once took a hat-trick.
Alec Cunningham.
(Sandford St Martin).
Left-hand batsman, right-arm medium bowler. Born in Oxford 15/11/56. Played for Warwickshire 2nd XI 1974-76 and won the Cricketer Cup with Marlborough Blues in 1980. Has a top score of 177 and best bowling figures of 6-30.
Adrian Manger.
(Horspath).
Right-hand batsman, right-arm medium pace bowler. Born 16/6/54. Educated Lord Williams's Thame, where he was inspired by teacher Dick Procktor. Played for Oxfordshire & OCCA sides, and was member of Tiddington side who lost National Village Championship final at Lord's in 1995, having won the Oxon group six times.
Steve Partington.
(Banbury Twenty).
Right-hand bat, right-arm spin bowler, occasional keeper. Born 2/5/53. Represented Oxfordshire, OCCA and Cherwell League sides. Took six catches in one match for Oxon as keeper, only to be dropped for next game. Captained Banbury Twenty to Cherwell League title. A leading hockey player for European Cup and National champions Slough, both indoor and outdoor.
Malcolm Evans.
(Cumnor).
Middle-order batsman. Born 11/12/54. Educated at Matthew Arnold School. Played for Cowley St John, Kingston and Botley & Old Adastral before joining Cumnor, with whom he won the OCA's Airey Cup. Has scored three Cherwell League centuries, and once was given out obstructed field.
Rob Willis.
(Henley & Uxbridge).
Off-spin bowler. Born 23/2/55. Won Thames Valley League title with Uxbridge and Cherwell Division 1 & 2 plus Home Counties Division 2 West titles with Henley. Took his first league hat-trick at 52 and once captured 9-14 against a ten-man side.
Neil Phillips.
(Buscot Park).
Wicket-keeper and left-hand batsman. Born 27/9/57. County age group player in Gloucestershire. Once took eight catches in an innings for Stroud v his former club Gloucester City – a Western League record. Has a highest score of 108no.
Trevor Spindler.
(Wallingford).
Left-arm seamer. Born 8/10/47. Educated at Roundhay School Leeds & Carnegie College. Won Cherwell League bowling awards in 2003 & 2007. Former clubs are Cowley St John, Kennington & Bletchingdon.
