Promoted Masons B got their Premier Section campaign off to a flying start in the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford League with a 4-1 victory against Section 1 newcomers Berinsfield Club, writes PETE EWINS.
Jason Smith (4,180) and Andy Webb (7,470) gave Masons a 2-0 lead.
Geoff Mace (7,280) pulled a game back, but victories from Dave Butt (7,400) and Chris Webb (4,580) saw Masons ease home.
Reigning champions Nelson continued where they left off by winning 5-0 at home to Gladiators A.
Mark Trafford (12,930, break 11,400), Steven Sheard (10,620, break 10,440) and Keith Sheard (13,550, breaks 5,480 and 7,990) were in good form.
Pauline Withey came back with a 3,000 break to pip Keith Gardner 3,900-3,250 in the last game.
Horse & Harrow cantered to a 5-0 win at home to Didcot Conservative Club.
Ian Moquet (8,830), Paul Lawson (11,780), John Scoones (3,360), Maxi McDonnell (9,210) and Gary Johnson (11,920) made up Horse & Harrow's tally.
In Section 2, Gladiators Club B fought back to win 3-2 at home to Dolphin B.
Dave Bartlett, who scored 5,740 on his debut, including a break of 3,280, and Joe Storch (3,030), gave Dolphin a 2-0 lead.
However, Gladiators rallied with Richard Stowe and Phil Clark (3,280) among their winners.
Democrats started their campaign in the lower section with a 4-1 win at Headington Conservative Club.
Terry Green (4,770), Billy Hill (4,800) and John Patey (5,010) starred for Democrats, while Tim Jeffries savaged a point for Headington.

Premier/Section 1: Nelson 5 Gladiators A 0; Horse & Harrow 5, Didcot Con Club 0; Masons 4, Berinsfield 1.
Section 2: Gladiators B 3, Dolphin 2; Headington Con Club 1, Democrats 4.
