Oxford City give a return debut to striker James Faulkner when they travel to Chippenham in the Southern League's GX Cup preliminary round on Tuesday night.
Faulkner, who played for City last season, has rejoined from Basingstoke, and will replace Andy Baird after the former Wycombe striker went off with a hamstring injury 40 minutes into Saturday's 3-2 win against Rugby.
Player-manager Justin Merritt said: "I don't think it's too serious, but we're not playing him as a precaution."
Merritt has resisted the temptation to rest players.
"I won't be making many changes as I want to get some continuity after the win against Rugby," he said. "We weren't too good in the first half, but we were a lot better in the second half.
"With (Jamie) Brooks, (Steve) Jackman and Faulkner now in the squad, it will give us a lot more strength.
Meanwhile, Merritt said he was delighted the club got a reprieve in the FA Cup after Bracknell were found to have fielded an ineligible player.
City now play Tiverton on Saturday.
"It's under fortunate circumstances, but we have got a tough game ahead of us," he said. "It's a home tie and we can have a right go at them."
Oxford City: from Harrison, Saulsbury, Davis, Gunn, Redknap, Jackman, Bell, Malone, Faulconbridge, Baird, Brooks, Lyon, Gardner, Faulkner, Brooks, Kite, Avery, B Weedon.
