Crawley Town boss Steve Evans reckoned it would have been a travesty had his team not won, writes JON MURRAY.
"We passed them off the pitch and opened them up at will," he said.
"The ref will have nightmares about giving the penalty when he watches the DVD.
"But we felt, even when we went behind, we would win the game. We've got some very good characters in the dressing room, and we got the ball down and played, and for the last half an hour of the first half, they never got a touch of the ball.
"It would have been a travesty had it been anything other than a win for us."
Former U's midfielder Jamie Cook, who scored the winner, said Crawley's fine season probably vindicated his decision to stay with them and not re-join Oxford.
"The season's going really well for us so far, and I'm enjoying my football. So at the moment I'm happy with where I'm playing and where I am."
