Derbyshire big fish expert Eddie Betteridge was rewarded for his trip to an Oxfordshire pit by landing three huge bream, weighing 13lb 8oz, 16lb 2oz and 17lb.
Eddie targeted a gravel hump which he baited up with boilies, multi-blend pellets and halibut pellets.
The big bream was the first to come to the net, taken on a 12mm Vision Baits Ocean Protein boilie, which was attached to a size 10 hook to 10lb line.
As well as the three bream, Eddie also landed a 6lb tench and 23lb mirror carp.
Over the last three years he has banked 17 bream over the 12lb mark.
I WOULD imagine that most anglers think that Panshill Wood Fishery near Murcott is a complex only for matchmen.
Although matches are fished on the complex, the waters also produce some decent carp.
Two local anglers, Colin Bennett and Phil Bennett (they are not related), have had some good catches recently out of Hill Lake, besides the smaller carp, of which there are plenty.
Colin and Phil caught some of the larger fish.
They both started off using pellet, but after lunch they changed to boilies.
Phil had the first run and was soon into a fish that weighed 16lb 1oz – a personal best.
Soon after that fish, Colin had a 12lb 4oz mirror and then he got into a fish that went 15lb 12oz, which was also a pb.
