WALLINGFORD A wrapped up an 8-2 victory over Oxford A in the Inter-Area Cup semi-final, despite being out-scored on aggregate points, writes PETE EWINS.
With Wallingford leading 4-1 from the first leg, they repeated the result, even though Oxford amassed 58,570 points to Wallingford's 55,430 overall.
Leon Beer set the ball rolling with victory over Alan Godfrey, then Tony Martin made it 2-0 by defeating Kevin Godfrey.
Mark Turner beat Dave Tooke to make it 3-0, before Joe O'Farrell defeated Steven Sheard.
In the final game, Keith Sheard amassed the highest away break in the competition (20,360) as he thrashed Phil Collins, but it was merely consolation.
Meanwhile, the Johnsons Buildbase Oxford & District League gets under way tonight with 16 teams competing in three sections.
Newcomers Marlborough Club (Didcot) will compete in Section 2.
