Oxfordshire competitors Kathy Critchlow-Smith and Danielle Watts missed out of medals in the Paralympic Games at Beijing today.
Critchlow-Smith, from Abingdon, and teammates Kay Lucas and Kate Murray, had high hopes of retaining Britain's title in the women's recurve archery. But they lost 178-161 in their quarter-final to second seeds Korea.
Critchlow-Smith, part of the Athens gold-medal winning team, shone in a close match against the Koreans, but couldn't stop the Paralympic title slipping from her hands.
Swimmer Watts, from Wheatley, finished seventh in the women's S2 50m backstroke final, after coming second in her heat.
