Bracknell Tn 2 (Newby 32, Telemaque 65)
Oxford City 0
Oxford City can have no complaints after they crashed out of the cup at the first time of asking to BGB Southern League Division 1 South & West opposition Bracknell.
They were given an early warning that it was going to be far from easy with ten minutes gone when former City player Errol Telemaque found Christopher Geary, who put in a decent header, but City keeper Ryan Harrison put the effort behind for a corner.
City found it difficult to get forward as the home side provided all the pressure.
Their first shot came from George Redknap, but it flew well wide.
Bracknell went in front after a dubious free-kick awarded 20 yards out for handball saw Keith Newbury curl an effort beyond the wall and into the goal just inside the upright.
Andy Gunn was fortunate not to concede an own goal as his attempted clearance went dangerously close.
In the second half, City's performance improved slightly, but they were still finding it difficult to create any clear-cut chances.
After Ryan McIntosh drove powerfully wide, Bracknell's second goal came just after the hour.
Harrison pushed away Ian Harvey's shot, but the ball fell nicely for Telemaque to fire home.
City's best chance came from Andy Baird, who put his header wide of the target.
Oxford City: Harrison, Saulsbury, Weedon, Gunn, Redknap (Malone H/T), Kite, Gardner (Bell H/T), Faulconbridge, Romeo (Rendell 84), Baird, Lyon. Subs not used: Avery, Allaway.
Attendance: 111
