Table-topping Bicester suffered a big blow to their hopes of winning Mixed Division 1 in the 2-Pair League with an emphatic 3.5-0.5 defeat at Cholsey.

Pat Cayphan and Pauline Loilier won both their matches for Cholsey, fighting back from a set down to beat Bicester's top pair Rob Pink and Becky Garrett 4-6, 6-4, 6-4.

Oxford Sports A boosted their prospects of avoiding relegation by defeating Abingdon 3-1.

Unbeaten Goring and Esporta are both going neck-and-neck for the Division 2 title.

Goring overwhelmed Benson A 4-0 while Esporta beat Blewbury 3-1 with Phil Whallor and Lynda Sutton claiming four sets.

Veteran Liz Bamber and Tim Manners were taken to three tie-breaks in their four sets in Colston's match at Wantage B. They managed to win two of them, and that was enough, as Colston triumphed 3-1.

Oxford City and Woodstock maintained their challenge for the Mixed Division 1 title in the 3-Pair League with convincing wins.

Oxford City brushed aside North Oxford B 7-1 with both Antony Di Pinto and Esther Symmonds, and Adrian Roberts and Jo Love unbeaten.

And Woodstock chalked up a similarly impressive 7-1 victory at Banbury B.Chris Corfield and Liz Gilkes dropping just ten games in winning their six sets com- fortably.

Oxford Sports B crushed their own C team 9-0 to take a grip at the top of Ladies Division 2.
