Oxford United boss Darren Patterson says he will not stand in the way of Luke Foster playing for England next week – even though the defender's four-match ban is stopping him from appearing for the U's.
Foster was named by Paul Fairclough in a 16-man England C squad for the trip to Sarajevo to take on Bosnia & Herzegovina next Tuesday.
The match is against the Bosnian A2 squad, which is in efffect their second string team and is used as a bridge between their under-21 side and the senior team.
Patterson said: "I know he's suspended for us, but he's available to play for England C. I wouldn't dream of standing in the way of him playing for them, he's worked hard to get that recognition."
