The Old Un's showed there's no substitute for experience as they beat the Young Un's 4-3 in their Oxford & District League challenge match at the Democrats Club.
Masons' Chris Webb beat Pauline Withey 6,330-4,030 to give the Young Un's the lead.
But then Alan Oliver, Keith Gardner and John Patey took the next three games to make it 3-1 to the Old Un's.
Berinsfield's Craig Mace and Nelson's Steven Sheard, who scored 9,480, hit back to make it 3-3.
And in a close decider, Masons' Martyn Wood pipped Mel Stanbridge 3,790-2,920 to give the Old Un's victory.
The night also featured the summer league present- ations, while the winter league starts next Thursday.
