Luke Ayling

The 33-year-old defender joined Boro as a free agent following a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.

After stints at Yeovil Town and Bristol City, he switched to Leeds United in August 2016 and spent eight years at Elland Road.

Ayling netted 11 goals in 268 appearances for the Whites, and played 93 times for the club in the Premier League.

Hayden Hackney

The England Under-21 international midfielder is a product of the Boro academy system and made his first team debut in January 2021.

He spent the 2021/22 season on loan at Scunthorpe United in League Two, and in total has played 83 times for Boro.

Hackney suffered an unspecified injury while with the England Under-21s this week and returned to Boro early, with his ability for the weekend yet to be confirmed.

Finn Azaz

No player has registered more assists than the five made by Azaz so far this season in the Championship.

The 24-year-old Republic of Ireland midfield creator began his career at West Bromwich Albion and Aston Villa, and it was two loan spells at Plymouth Argyle which really drew attention to him.

He joined Boro from Villa on a permanent deal in January, and has since scored seven goals in 35 Championship games.

Ben Doak

The 19-year-old Scottish winger on loan from Liverpool is making a name for himself at Boro.

He made 10 first team appearances for Liverpool prior to joining Boro on loan at the end of August, and has received plaudits for his exciting wing play this season.

He impressed for Scotland in their wins against Croatia and Poland during the recent international break.

Boro’s top scorer in the league with five goals to his name, the 22-year-old striker joined the club in the summer for a reported £4.5 million.

He bagged 25 goals in 92 games for Bristol City, and switched to the Riverside Stadium in mid-August.

Five goals in 11 league appearances have followed, making Conway a real goal threat for Boro this weekend.

Emmanuel Latte Lath

The 25-year-old Ivory Coast international striker has been a regular source of goals since joining Boro last summer.

His debut campaign saw him smash in 18 goals in 36 appearances across all competitions, and this season, he has four in 16 matches.

The centre forward netted in both games for Boro prior to the international break.
