Abingdon United Women's head coach has called on his side to be "ruthless" when they face Reading in the Berks and Bucks FA Women's Senior Cup quarter-finals on Sunday (November 17).
Abingdon will look to reach the final four when they host Reading at The Northcourt in a 2pm kick-off.
Reading competed in the Women's Championship last season, but are now competing in the fifth tier of the women’s football pyramid having suffered financial difficulties.
Abingdon's head coach, Chris Smith, said: "What happened with Reading FC was a very tough reminder of what can happen within the female game.
"Thankfully the supporters and community have made sure they can continue as a group and it's been brilliant to see that support, but come Sunday it's down to us to be professional, be ruthless, and make sure it's us in the hat for the next round.
"We know anything can happen in 90 minutes, especially with a team that still has such a big following, but we have such momentum now, with a wonderful group of players and staff, that we have to look to try to take the game away as quickly as possible."
Abingdon come into the game following a 4-2 win against Woodley United in the previous round, while Reading booked their placed in the quarters finals after squeezing past Caversham United, winning 5-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
