FORMER Oxford United midfielder James Henry has been awarded the Vanarama National League player of the month for August.
The 35-year-old was released by United in the summer, and scored five goals in his first six games for Aldershot Town, despite starting only two of those matches.
Henry also registered an assist during his first month with the Shots, who sit 10th in the National League table, two points shy of the play-off places.

Henry’s exploits for the U’s wrote himself into modern United folklore, with his 58 goals ensuring only 10 players have scored more than him in the club’s history.
Those strikes include the winner at Doncaster Rovers in April 2018, to help preserve Sky Bet League One safety, and his wonderful hat-trick at home to Lincoln City in August 2021.
