CIARON Brown earned his 20th international cap as Northern Ireland beat Luxembourg 2-0.

The Oxford United defender played the full 90 minutes, featuring on the left of a back three.

Fellow centre halves Paddy McNair and Dan Ballard gave Northern Ireland a two-goal lead within 16 minutes.

McNair’s opener came after Brown launched a long throw into the penalty box, causing a scramble in the area.

Brown was later booked in the UEFA Nations League clash, picking up his caution with seven minutes to go.

Northern Ireland are next in action when they make the trip to Bulgaria on Sunday. Belarus are the other team in Group C3.

Meanwhile, Brown’s club teammate Marselino Ferdinan played the final half an hour as Indonesia began their 2026 World Cup third round qualifying campaign with a 1-1 draw against Saudi Arabia.

Ragnar Oratmangoen gave Indonesia the lead just before 20 minutes had been played, before Musab Al-Juwayr levelled matters in first half stoppage time.

Indonesia face Australia, who were beaten 1-0 by Bahrain, next week.
