SAM Cox has called on the Oxford City faithful to make Court Place Farm a fortress this season.

The Hoops are set for their first home game of the campaign when they welcome Darlington in Vanarama National League North tomorrow afternoon.

Bradley Stretton netted a stoppage time equaliser as City began the season with a 1-1 draw at Marine last weekend.

Cox told the Hoops website: “I’m buzzing for it. I feel like the first home game has been a long time coming.

“It’s going to be a fantastic occasion for us and for me personally, as the first game at home is always special.

“We just want everyone behind us and hopefully we can put a performance in that warrants that support.

“The support at Marine was fantastic and to score the last minute equaliser down at that end where our fans were was great.

“We know Darlington and that they like to play football. Traditionally they’ve been a really good Football League club and they’re going to do everything they can to rectify the result they had on Saturday.

“They’ll be hard to break down and we’ll have to do everything that we can to try and affect their game plan and hopefully we’ll be able to do so.

“Now we need to go again and get as many people here as we can to make this place a fortress for us.

“Support is welcome from everyone, and I want to make this place a special place this year. Together we can achieve something special.”
