OXFORD City have snapped up former Coventry City attacker Bradley Stretton following his hat-trick as a trialist against Kings Langley.

Stretton, who can play centrally and on both wings, will wear the number 11 shirt for the Hoops.

The 19-year-old was released by Coventry in May without making a first team appearance, after initially joining his boyhood club aged seven, but has made a big impression at Court Place Farm as a trialist, scoring four goals in pre-season.

Those strikes include his hat-trick as City thrashed Kings Langley 9-1 in a pre-season clash at Court Place Farm on Saturday.

Stretton told the Hoops club website: “It’s great to get it finally done now. I’m very excited, it’s a fresh start and I’m looking forward to getting my career on track and doing my thing.”

Hoops manager Sam Cox added: “I’ve been really impressed with Brad. He’s someone we were made aware of, he’s a fantastic young talent and he was in and around Coventry’s first team last season.

“He’s got a fantastic profile, he’s a good technician and a really good person.

“In the games he’s been part of, he’s impressed and he’s certainly someone we think we can work with, help improve and develop in his journey. He’s a really good signing for us.”
