OXFORD United have sold more than 7,000 season tickets ahead of the Sky Bet Championship campaign, and have apologised for taking them off sale.
Season tickets went on sale on June 6, with the early bird window initially scheduled to close on July 5.
However, fans last week were unable to buy season tickets prior to that July 5 deadline.

U’s chief executive Tim Williams said in a statement on the club website: “The support at Wembley was a special sight to behold, and that feeling of unity has transferred into what has become a record-breaking summer for season ticket sales.
“More than 7,000 have now been sold, a figure which showcases the incredible commitment people have to this football club.
“It makes this season in the Championship even more exciting knowing you will be there to back the team at each and every home game.
“The demand for season tickets has presented some logistical issues though, and last week we had to take the decision to go off sale a few days earlier than planned due to reaching our limit.
“It is extremely important that we have an allocation of home and away matchday tickets available, and we had to prioritise the renewal period for existing season ticket holders. We understand this may have caused some frustration and apologise for that.”

Oxford United Supporters’ Panel addressed the issue in their most recent newsletter, published on Tuesday night.
The newsletter stated: “When the club advertised a closing date for new season tickets there was no mention of it being subject to any kind of capacity limit, therefore we feel it was unfair to fans to remove new season tickets from sale before the published deadline.
“We know many of you attempted to purchase last week and were unsuccessful. We also feel that the decision should have been communicated to supporters to save us, and the ticket office staff, a lot of frustration.”
