JORDAN Flynn has been forced to postpone his grudge fight against Cameron Vuong after suffering a knee injury during a sparring session.

The Cowley boxer was due to take on the highly-rated Vuong at the Resorts World Arena in Birmingham next Saturday.

However, Flynn has announced that injury has forced him to cancel the bout.

He posted on Twitter: “Devastated to announce I’ve suffered a meniscus tear in my knee during my last sparring session of training.

“I’ll be undergoing emergency surgery and I pray for a speedy recovery. I am gutted but will keep you all updated when a new fight date is locked in.

“I want to thank Matchroom Boxing and 258, my family, friends, training team, supporters, and sponsors for all the support.

“For those who have purchased tickets, I will get you refunded. Just give me time as there are so many of you.

“I apologise for any inconvenience for you all, especially those of you who were travelling.”

Flynn was initially set to fight Vuong in April, but the bout was removed from the Jordan Gill v Zelfa Barrett card due to a ‘minor injury’ suffered by Vuong.

Rather than a 10-round fight with Vuong, Flynn instead went head-to-head in a six-round bout with Tanzanian boxer Tampela Maharusi, winning 59-54 on points.
