Abingdon Vale left-arm seamer Danny Hartley took 8-14 in a devastating spell to re-ignite his side's promotion push in Division 2 and leave opponents Tiddington in the relegation zone.
Vale lost the toss, but from then on everything went right as James Boon hit 82, Chris Roderick 62 not out and stylish left-hander Matthew Chown 47 in their side's 238-3.
Skipper Ed Tilley's confidence in declaring two overs early was repaid by Hartley, who dismissed Tiddington for just 63.
Vale move up to third and still have to play the two top sides.
