GREG Leigh has helped Jamaica to third place at the Concacaf Nations League.
The Oxford United left back was named in the Reggae Boyz starting line-up for their third place clash against Panama.
The only goal of the match came four minutes before half-time, when Dexter Lembikisa, on loan at Hearts from Wolverhampton Wanderers, found the top corner with a brilliant strike from 25 yards.
There was concern for Leigh in the closing stages after he went down with what appeared to be cramp in the 90th minute.
The U’s defender was however able to walk off the field, and be replaced by New York City FC right back Tayvon Gray.
Claiming third place caps an impressive week for Leigh while on international duty, after he opened the scoring within the first sixty seconds in Jamaica’s semi-final against the USA.
He headed in Fulham forward Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s cross, however a Cory Burke own goal in the 95th minute sent the game into stoppage time, where Coventry City’s Haji Wright netted a brace.
Elsewhere, Ciaron Brown will be hoping to get some minutes tomorrow night, when Northern Ireland visit Scotland in a friendly. Brown was an unused substitute for the 1-1 draw in Romania on Friday.
Also still on international duty is Fin Stevens, who is in the Wales Under-21s squad for their friendly against Morocco tomorrow. On Friday, Stevens captained his country to a 2-1 win against Lithuania in a European Under-21 Championship qualifier.
