A TEENAGER from Oxfordshire is celebrating after winning a gold medal at a martial arts world championship.
Tommy Carter, 15, trains with his dad at Devil’s Muay Thai Gym in Wantage, and recently competed at the Amateur Muay Thai World Open, held in Great Yarmouth.
Carter beat a fighter from Belgium to secure the gold medal in the 14-15 years, 54-57kg category.

His dad, Martin Carter, told this newspaper: “He won against a strong lad from Belgium. Tommy used good boxing knees and clinch work to dominate every round.”
Carter won 30-27 on points in the final.
The World Open took place at the Vauxhall Holiday Park in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk.
