REPORTED Oxford United target Jack Marriott has left Fleetwood Town to join Wrexham for an undisclosed fee.
The Oxford Mail understands that reports of a £400,000 bid being knocked back during the summer were accurate, while the U’s are believed to have pursued a deal for the striker last January, prior to him joining the Cod Army for a reported £250,000.
Marriott continued to be linked with a move to United this month, however it is understood he was not at the top of the club’s wish list in looking for a striker during the January transfer window.

The 29-year-old has signed a deal with Wrexham until the end of the 2024/25 season.
He told the Red Dragons website: “I’m really pleased to be here and happy to get the deal over the line.
“The club’s performances, the way they play as a team, is a real key factor for me signing and the trajectory that the club is going in is something that I want to be involved in and I’m absolutely delighted to be here.”
The U’s remain in the hunt for a centre forward and right-sided attacker during the closing hours of the transfer window.
