BILLY Bodin is working with Oxford United’s medical team to get over an ongoing Achilles problem.
The 31-year-old has only featured in one of United’s last six league games, playing the final half an hour of the 2-1 win at Charlton Athletic on New Year’s Day.
His most recent game for the club was as a half-time substitute in the Emirates FA Cup defeat at Coventry City, while he was left out of the squads for the AFC Wimbledon tie in the EFL Trophy, and the weekend’s trip to Carlisle United in Sky Bet League One.

Asked about Bodin’s fitness situation, U’s head coach Des Buckingham said: “Billy’s got a niggle with his Achilles, so it keeps flaring up.
“We’re trying to manage him and work a timeframe, so rather than it come up and then go again, because we want him back and we want him for as many of the next 20 games as possible.
“The medical staff have now taken him fully and we’ll work a plan around that, to make sure the next time we do see him, he doesn’t dip in and out of squads, and he’s able to come back and stay.”
Bodin has scored seven goals in 25 appearances across all competitions so far this campaign.
