OXFORD United have made their second signing in two days, with the addition of Chelsea goalkeeper Jamie Cumming on a loan deal until the end of the season.
The 24-year-old has been with the Blues since he was an Under-8 in the club’s development centre programme.
Although yet to make his senior debut with Chelsea, the goalkeeper has extensive experience during four loan spells away from the club.
He has racked up 130 Football League appearances during stints with Stevenage, Gillingham and two spells at MK Dons, where he worked with former United boss Liam Manning and current U’s goalkeeping coach Lewis Price.

During the 2016/17 campaign, his first as a scholar, he played in the FA Youth Cup final as Chelsea won the competition for the fourth year in a row.
He was named on the bench for five first team games during the 2019/20 season, including against Bayern Munich in the last 16 of Champions League.
Cumming then joined Stevenage, then in Sky Bet League Two, on loan in August 2020, making 47 appearances across all competitions, while keeping 18 clean sheets.
The following season saw Cumming tested in League One, with Gillingham, where he played 22 times in the league, prior to a mid-season switch to Milton Keynes.
He kept 10 clean sheets in 23 games, as Manning’s side finished third and lost to Wycombe Wanderers in the play-off semi-finals.
Cumming returned to the Dons last season, playing 54 times and keeping 15 clean sheets, as the club suffered relegation to League Two.
The goalkeeper continued to impress though, and was voted the men’s player of the year, and players’ player of the year.
United made their first signing of the January window yesterday, when forward Tyler Burey joined on loan from Danish side Odense.
