OXFORD United have got an analyst working behind the scenes, as the club edges closer to adding to Des Buckingham’s backroom staff.
The head coach, who was appointed on November 16, has been forced to work without an assistant and analyst during his first six weeks in the job.
When former boss Liam Manning left for Sky Bet Championship side Bristol City on November 7, he took with him his assistant Chris Hogg and first team coach analyst James Krause.
However, Buckingham confirmed after yesterday’s late win against Cambridge United, that an analyst is helping out while he finalises the finer details at his current employer.

“The analyst is in and working behind the scenes at the moment, alongside Isaac [Alder], who’s been fantastic,” said Buckingham.
“He’ll help with the stuff going forward, but in terms of an on ground date, I can’t give you that right now, but he’s done and I should be able to give you a name when he’s told his employers properly.
“I’m meeting another one [assistant] for the third time, so I’ll hopefully get that finalised and signed off, and then get them on ground hopefully this time next week.
“It’s about making sure the playing group and myself have what we want. We know what’s needed and sometimes that takes time.
“It’s not been through a want of trying, whether myself or the board, and there’s a lot of reasons why it’s taken a bit longer.
“If we can get those people in the building, it will certainly help because I want to spend as much time with the playing group. Those people coming in will really help aid that, and the players.”
