An Oxfordshire teen is preparing for a prestigious international squash tournament.
Emily Coulcher-Porter, a member of Abingdon Squash Club, will be competing in the British Junior Open in Birmingham from January 3 to 7.
Regarded as one of the world's most distinguished junior squash tournaments, the competition attracts players from around the globe.
Emily will represent Oxfordshire in the Girls U17 category, one of the most intense divisions.
Despite being the best-ranked British U17, Emily revealed her low seeding at the open owing to the fierce competition this year.
Emily Coulcher-Porter said: "The competition is exceptionally fierce this year in the girls U17.
"As a result, I have a low seed in the U17 at the Open.
"It will be a tough tournament; I’m incorporating a lot more of the mental side with the physical and will see how far I can get.
"I’m looking forward to the challenge."
This year’s competition carries added weight as squash has been included in the LA28 Games, rendering the players as potential Olympic candidates.
England Squash CEO Mark Williams said: "We are looking forward to another fantastic event featuring the best young squash players from all over the world.
"We are very proud of the prestige and heritage of the British Junior Open and it is hugely exciting to remember that the winners will be etching their names into squash history."
