CAMERON Brannagan reckons James Beadle has a huge future ahead of him, and hopes the goalkeeper can stay at Oxford United for the rest of the season.

Beadle arrived at United on a season-long loan from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, and has gone on to become a key cog in the U’s side.

The 19-year-old has kept eight clean sheets in 23 appearances across all competitions, while his ability to distribute the ball with his feet has added an extra dimension to United’s attack.

Beadle’s form hasn’t gone unnoticed, with the U’s fanbase hopeful he won’t be recalled in January amid quiet murmurings he could be sent to a Sky Bet Championship side in order to further test his development.

United midfielder Brannagan said: “He’s been ace. It’s great to have him behind us, and he’s a great kid, which is the most important thing.

“He’s come in and done fantastic, and hopefully he stays as long as possible.

“He’s great with his feet, with shot-stopping and his all round game is fantastic.

“He’s a young kid, and just needs to keep building and working on what he’s good at. I’m sure he’ll play at the top, in my eyes.”
