TANIA Godfrey won a gold medal at her first ever karate competition.
Godfrey, competing for Witney Dojo, came away with a gold medal at the Kaizen Cup Invitational Championships.
The competition sees contestants from across the country and abroad take part.

Godfrey’s daughter, Alysha-Paris, told this newspaper: “This was her first ever competition which she competed at, and she came away with an amazing achievement.
“We are all super proud of our mum and are so glad that she finally got the courage to compete for herself, and that she came away winning all of her matches and winning first place.
“This was an incredible outcome for someone who was so nervous, but she was absolutely incredible.
“She is super proud of this, and so are we. It is an amazing accomplishment and achievement.”
