JAMES Henry said it will be ‘business as usual’ for Oxford United’s players following the departure of head coach Liam Manning.

Henry made his first appearance since March last night, playing the first 45 minutes as United beat Chelsea Under-21s 5-0 in the EFL Trophy.

It was pre-planned that the midfielder would only feature in the first half, however his delivery from corners caused consistent problems for the Blues defence.

Henry, who didn’t play a game under Manning due to a run of niggling injuries, said: “It’s always a bit chaotic when there’s a change of manager, but it’s business as usual for us as players.

“We’re all professionals and we’ve all been in this situation before.

“I wish the old manager well and we’ll go on from there.”

He added: “Liam came in and hit the ground running. He did a fantastic job of creating a great culture here, and they’ve done some great recruiting in the summer window.

“Performances have really picked up and the whole place seems to have a buzz about it.

“We want to keep playing the way we’re playing and keep progressing as a club. There’s still a long way to go so we can’t rest on any laurels.”
