OXFORD City face a tough task if they are to end back-to-back defeats in Vanarama National League tomorrow afternoon.

The Hoops have suffered consecutive 3-1 losses on the road, at Bromley and Wealdstone, to leave the side 21st in the table and a point inside the relegation zone.

Ross Jenkins’ side welcome second-placed Barnet to Court Place Farm tomorrow, looking to get back to winning ways.

Injuries though have hampered the Hoops in recent weeks, with Jenkins adding forward Claudio Ofosu to his squad prior to the defeat at Wealdstone.

Speaking after the game, Jenkins said: “It was the first time that the boys had seen him [Ofosu]. Ideally we’d like to bring someone in for a couple of sessions first, and get them used to the boys.

“But the way our injury list is stacking up, we need to make sure we fill a bench. Without him, we’d have been quite light again.

“In terms of the injuries, we can’t control it at the moment. It is what it is.

“We need to make sure the boys are doing as best as possible to get back fit. They’re key players when you look at the spine of the team.

“Even if the top Premier League clubs are missing seven players, it’s going to be hard, so big credit to the boys for sticking with it.”

Previewing the clash with Barnet, Jenkins said: “We try and give everyone a good game and so far, I think we’ve done that apart from maybe a couple this season.

“Whoever comes to our patch, we’ll try and give them a good game.”

He added: “Last year, we scored a lot, and we’re creating the same amount of chances statistically, but we’re just not putting them away this season.

“We need to correct that and keep plugging away because it will turn.”
