ALEX Gorrin labelled his return to the Oxford United side a privilege, after making his first appearance for almost a year.
The Spanish midfielder had last played for U’s in November after he suffered a knee injury during training the following month, however he made his return as a substitute in the 2-0 loss at Wigan Athletic in midweek.
It has been a tough time for the 30-year-old, who also missed a large chunk of the 2021/22 campaign after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury to his other knee.

“It’s been a long road but I’m happy to be back. The result is not what we wanted, but on a personal level, I’m just happy to be back on the field,” said Gorrin.
“The gaffer has obviously been happy with what he’s seen and I’m delighted with the deal until January.
“I just want to do my best day by day and help as much as I can. Everyone’s been great to me and I just want to do my best for the group.
“I’m here whenever needed. Anytime I pull on the yellow jersey, it’s a privilege.
“I’ve had two really tough years and every day when I came in, even if it was as simple as getting their arm around me, I just felt like everybody has supported me. I feel like I’m at home.”
