LIAM Manning has warned of the threat set to be posed by a former Oxford United loanee this afternoon.
Blackpool striker Jordan Rhodes had a brief spell with the U’s from Ipswich Town in 2007, scoring twice in an FA Cup qualifying round tie at Merthyr Tydfil.
Since joining the Tangerines on a season-long loan from Huddersfield Town at the end of August, Rhodes has netted seven goals in eight games.
He was nominated for the Sky Bet League One player of the month award for September, which was ultimately won by United’ Greg Leigh.

Manning said: “We’re aware of Jordan’s career and what he’s done. I remember seeing him back in the day when he was in the youth team at Ipswich.
“We know about Jordan’s threats, but he’s not the only one. They’ve got alternative options and goals from a variety of sources.
“They’ve got players in the team who carry a real threat. It’s about sticking to our game plan and concentrating on us, and bringing our threats to the table.”
He added: “You have to remember they were in the Championship last season and coming down, it didn’t feel like it was a major overhaul there.
“Neil’s [Critchley, head coach] done a great job in terms of getting them back on track.”
