CRICKET: Andrew Tolson top-scored with an undefeated 33 to help Aston Rowant to a 48-run win over Thame in the final at Bicester & North Oxford.
Batting first, Rowant were in a belligerent mood as they posted an imposing 117-5 from their 20 overs.
Tolson led the way, but he was well backed-up by skipper Adam Muttitt, who scored 21, while Charlie Parker was the pick of the Thame bowlers with 2-20.
Thame's reply got off to a disastrous start as Nick Barker ripped out two wickets with his first two balls, trapping Parker lbw and bowling Adam Phippen.
When Will Sutcliffe was run out shortly awardwards, Thame were reeling at 3-3.
From that point, it was always going to be an uphill struggle, and although Sam Alexander (22) and James Adams (18) rebuilt the innings, Thame were shot out for 69 in the 19th over.
Earlier in the day, Rowant had beat Shrivenham by nine wickets in their semi-final, while Thame edged past Horspath by eight runs.
Shrivenham posted 77-5 against Rowant, with Josh Wade (25) leading the reply.
Thame had been restricted to just 78-4 against Horspath, but they lost Hamza Hussain for a duck in their reply, and finished up just short on 70-7.
Aston Rowant now go on to represent Oxfordshire in the national rounds of the MCC Spirit of Cricket competition, starting on July 23.

Thame Tn 78-4 (J Dack 31, Waqar Latif 3-13), Horspath 70-7.

Final: Aston Rowant 117-5 (A Tolson 33no, A Muttitt 21, C Parker 2-20), Thame Tn 69 (N Barker 2-11).
