Captain's Day was a real family affair at North Oxford with Martyn and Ian Booth taking centre stage.
Martyn, 34, is this year's captain, and started the shotgun tournament, while his dad Ian, 62, the current vice-captain, will succeed him.
"We know of a few instances where the son has taken over as captain from his father, but it must be rare for this to happen in reverse," said Martyn.
Ian explained: "When Martyn was put up for captain I thought it would be great to follow in his footsteps."
Martyn, who plays off a two handicap, joined as a junior after caddying for his father and went down from 28 to eight in his first year.
He has won 18 tournaments at North Oxford, including the club championship three times, the scratch matchplay six times and the major foursomes competition partnered by his father.
Ian, who plays off seven, has also won the scratch matchplay competition, and the Pimms Cup.
Both of them have carried off the Weber Trophy for mixed pairs, partnering Ian's wife and Martyn's mother, Margaret, who plays off 12.
Martyn said: "We enjoy every moment of our golf. This is a brilliant club.
"The course is challenging and there is a great club spirit - just like a big family really."
