SIXTY former non-league players helped raise more than £6,000 via a charitable round of golf.

Teams captained by ex-Banbury United man Mark O’Hara and former Oxford City player Steve Jenkins went up against each other at Waterstock Golf Club.

O’Hara said: “Not one person let us down, even though it was torrential rain and it would’ve been easier to stay at home and watch The Open.

“There was some great banter and Jenks won again so he’ll have two stars on his shirt next year, like he’s won the World Cup or something.”

Upon publication, £6,225 had been raised for Cancer Research UK.
