Oxfordshire pair Nigel Hume and Harry Smith compiled a fantastic 251-run partnership to steer their side to a massive 265-run victory over the Isle of Wight in their ECB Under 15 County Cup tie at Kidlington.

The Islanders won what seemed to be a good toss and put Oxon in to bat on a pitch that had some damp patches due to heavy overnight rain.

And the decision looked even better as Oxon lost openers Lloyd Sabin and Sam Ryan with just 23 on the board.

However, this brought together Hume and Smith, and from then on, the pair took the game away from the visitors.

Both scored their maiden county centuries, with Hume hitting nine boundaries in his magnificent 134.

Smith cracked six boundaries as he scored exactly 100, with Oxfordshire's innings closing on 315-6 from their 50 overs.

Isle of Wight bowler Arthur Halsey took five of the six wickets to fall.

Chasing such a formidable target, Isle of Wight were quickly in trouble.

Jonathan Bourchier produced outstanding figures of 3-7, but there were also wickets on debut for Idris Mohammed (2-6) and Philip Allen.

Isle of Wight's innings last just 22.4 overs as they were shot out for 50.
