SWIMMING: While many competitors swam too fast for their age groups, Matilda Cannon-Shearer kept within the threshold to pick up three gold medals at City of Oxford's Junior Open.
Swimming in the 11-year-age group, she collected gold in the100m butterfly, 100m individual medley (IM) and 200m freestyle.In 13/us there were speeding tickets for James Broughton in 100m IM and 50m 100 & 200 freestyle.
Leanne Brooks and Ryan Conway produced the fastest swims of the whole competition in their aged13 events - the 100m IM (1min 17.84secs) and the 50m freestyle (30.43) respectively.
In the nine-year age group, Maya Nickituk was too fast in the 100m breaststroke and 50m freestyle. The latter, in a time of 37.26 secs, was faster than the age group above. Lilly Seawood earned a speeding ticket with an amazing 100m breast in 1min 47.10 secs, which was five seconds faster than the best ten-year-old.
Outstanding in the 11-year-old age group, Elizabeth Oliver was simply too fast in 200m freestyle, 100m IM, 50m backstroke and 50m breaststroke.
However, she took golds in 100m backstroke and 100m freestyle and silver in 100m breaststroke.
