STEVE Seddon has left Oxford United for Sky Bet League One rivals Burton Albion on loan.

The 25-year-old left back joins Burton in a temporary switch until the end of the season.

Seddon, whose contract with the U’s expires next summer, has made 58 appearances for the club, scoring four goals, since joining from Birmingham City for an undisclosed fee in July 2021.

The defender started last season as first choice left back, however he was dislodged by Ciaron Brown and ended up joining Cambridge United on loan in January.

He suffered a fractured cheekbone and eye socket on his debut but made nine further appearances following his return, to help his loan side preserve their League One status.

Burton finished 15th in the third tier last season.

Meanwhile, fellow defender Stuart Findlay has also left United, for Scottish Premiership side Kilmarnock on a season-long loan today.
