Hanborough broke their duck in Division 3 of the Oxford & District League, sponsored by Yarnton Nurseries Garden Centre, with a 4-2 win against fellow strugglers Witney Town.

It came after they had lost their opening five matches.

In Division 2, Kidlington pulled off a 3-3 draw at Blackbird Leys, despite losing on three of the four rinks.

County president John O'Shea picked up the three points for Kidlington as his rink won 27-10 to give them victory 74-66 on shots.

Despite having several key players away on tour, South Oxford won 5-1 at home to Bicester to climb up to second place.

Division 4 leaders Charlbury recorded the highest score of the day as they brushed aside West Oxford 6-0.

Dave Dix skipped Charlbury's best winning rink, picking up a 41-13 victory against Fred Buck's four.
