THE vastly experienced Pete Lamont is joining Milton United next season as their director of football.
After years as a manager at many different levels, and having lived through the trials and tribulation at AFC Wallingford last season, Lamont has decided to take a step back from the pressure of day-to-day management to assume his new role at the FTL Futbol Hellenic League side.
Milton United chairman Barry Griffiths said: "We are very, very pleased to have Pete joining us.
"We know for a fact that he has been approached by a number of other interested clubs, keen to secure his services as manager.
"He has chosen Milton because he badly wants to stay involved with football and the role of director of football will suit him ideally.
Team manager Kevin Lloyd said: "I have known Pete for many years and was instrumental in getting him to join us and strengthen the team at Milton.
"He has a wealth of experience at this, and higher levels, and I know that I can call on him for advice when I need to throughout the season."
