Oxfordshire captain Ian Hawtin was happy with his side's recovery on day two of their Minor Counties Championship clash with Wiltshire.
Some fine batting from Nathan Hawkes and Rob Williams saw Oxon lead by 91 runs with seven wickets in hand at Challow & Childrey.
Hawtin said: "We needed two of our top five to fire and these guys have done that.
"We've had a bit of luck, but they have batted well.
"It is not a bad position, but we'll have to play well in the morning to make it a good position.
"We started the innings looking to save the game, and we are still really in that position.
"Nathan has great ability. If he can play long innings, he will be an exciting prospect."
