OXFORDSHIRE'S Bradley Smith endured a frustrating afternoon at yesterday's British Grand Prix, finishing tenth in the 125cc class on his Polaris Aprilia.
Smith, from Forest Hill, who was riding despite still suffering from the foot and hand injuries he picked up in a crash a fortnight ago, was as high as sixth.
But he did not have the pace to keep with the chasing pack.
Starting from 11th on the grid, Smith never looked like challenging the leading riders.
There was, however, plenty to cheer about for the home crowd as 15-year-old Scott Redding pulled off a sensational victory.
The schoolboy, from Gloucestershire, became the youngest rider to win a Grand Prix race in the sport's 60-year history, and was the first British rider to win a British Grand Prix in 22 years.
