Former world champion Jason Crump heads a strong line-up, who are paying tribute to long-time Oxford Cheetahs rider Steve Johnston at Coventry on Sunday.
Popular Australian 'Johno', who spent ten years as an Oxford asset, has been awarded this testimonial meeting in recognition of his services.
With no racing at Cowley this season, Coventry volunteered to stage the event.
Other former Cheetahs in attendance are Leigh Adams, David Howe and Davey Watt, plus British champion Scott Nicholls and 17-year-old sensation Tai Woffinden.
There will also be match races between former riders Sam Ermolenko and Ronnie Correy, and a demonstration ride from 1976 world champion Peter Collins.
Johnston, now 36, spent five consecutive years riding for the Cheetahs from 1998 to 2002.
He was made captain in 2000, and helped the Cheetahs to the Elite League title the following season.
The departure of promoters Steve & Vanessa Purchase led to Johnston spending a number of years on loan to other tracks.
He returned to Oxford last season, when his form was his form was one of the few bright spots.
Then came the shock of the side's withdrawal from the Elite League.
Johnston was snapped up by Coventry and assisted them to the treble, before he signed for Ipswich this year.
